Options of Linn County works with community businesses in providing employment services to adults with disabilities. Options is a publicly operated service provider within the Linn County Community Services department. Options serves over 350 people annually.
MHDD - Mental Health and Developmental Disability Services
Linn County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities (MHDD) Services is the county agency responsible for managing services for people with mental retardation, mental illness, or developmental disabilities. This is done through the Central Point of Coordination office. The agency also provides direct services for people with disabilities through the following programs: Service Coordination/Client Counseling, Supervised Apartment Living, In-Home Services, Client Financial Services (Payee).
Kirkwood Community College Disability Accomodation Services
Kirkwood Community College has established policies and procedures to implement provisions of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). These policies and procedures are used to determine reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities to meet academic and technical standards required for their educational program. The Learning Services department offers support for students with disabilities. These services are available to qualified students at no cost. Using a case management team approach to assist students, Disability Services arranges reasonable accommodations for its clients.
